Traditional Framing
Mounted
Mounted – Print is bonded flat and over mounted with a range of mountboards. The simplest mount specification would be a single bevel cut mount, but the mount is an ideal component of the overall presentation to be creative with, so we often build the mount with up to 4 different layers, including hidden spacers to achieve deep 3D mounts.
Fit to Frame & Recessed
Fit to Frame & Recessed – Print is bonded flat, framed without a mount and sits at the back of the frame. A variety of spacers are used in the rebate of the frame to allow the print to sit at the back and these can match the colour of the frame in some cases. This adds depth to the ‘fit to frame’ style.
Floated
Floated – For this presentation, a print is bonded to a hidden pad which is typically 3-5mm thick. This is then adhered to a back mount which is in turn framed with a rebate spacer to ensure that the floating artwork is away from the glass. The back mount is typically anything from 1-4 inches larger than the print all the way around, and the overall presentation is very elegant.
Fit to Frame
Fit to Frame – Print is bonded flat and framed without a mount and sits at the front of the frame against the glass. This is the simplest form of presentation available.
